Before Your Visit

Your experience is a top priority for our team. We believe that preparation is the best strategy for success and your visit is no different. If you are a new patient, please contact us at info@fxregencenter.com or 310-929-9790. We have a dedicated Education Center staff that will walk you through every step of the process, including filling out your New Patient Packet and gathering all necessary imaging and medical records. We will provide a reminder notification regarding your upcoming visit – please expect either a text, email and/or a voicemail.

  • Please take our wonderful SoCal traffic into consideration when making travel plans for your appointment.

  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Please bring a government issued form of identification and all available medical records including any imaging CDs in your possession. If you do not have your imaging CDs on hand, please try to retrieve them from the imaging center prior to your appointment.

  • Please bring your spouse/partner, family member, friend or caretaker that may be helpful in providing additional details about your condition and/or who is a part of your decision-making process. We find that is very beneficial when our patients have a second set of ears because Dr. Patel provides a significant amount of information.
  • We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
  • We are aware that checking in early for your appointment is not always ideal and we appreciate your patience. There are many steps in the registration process because we are as thorough as possible to provide you with the best care.

  • Procedure check-in requires an early arrival time to process biologics before your procedure.
  • For most situations, yes. X-Rays will show the bones, but it does not show cartilage, tendons, or ligaments. The MRI / CT will give Dr. Patel an in-depth look at the affected joint and help him make the best possible recommendation for treatment.
  • If you do not have an MRI or CT, there are a few different options available. First, you can ask your primary care physician (PCP) to order the imaging studies for you. If your PCP will not order the MRI / CT scan, Dr. Patel can order the imaging for you. If you do not have insurance, we can order a cash pay MRI / CT scan for you at one of our contracted facilities.

Treatments FAQs

  • Click here to see the different conditions we treat and case studies of different patients who have benefited from our procedures.
  • Our goal is to identify and resolve the root cause of your pain condition. Pain medication management deals with just that – managing pain, but not necessarily dealing with the underlying issues. That said, we currently do not treat pain with opioid or narcotic medication management. This requires a complex process, which should always involve a mental health specialist and proper controls. We offer alternative forms of pain management. If you require a pain medication management specialist, we will refer you to one of our trusted colleagues.
  • Functional Orthopedics is a philosophy pioneered by Dr. Patel that combines various schools of thought to provide the most comprehensive approach to the evaluation of your condition and creation of your treatment plan. This method looks at helping your symptoms, but more importantly addresses the root causes of your condition.
  • There are two types of fully licensed physicians in the U.S. – MDs and DOs. In addition to the same 4 years of basic science and clinical education as MDs, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine also learn a type of manual medicine called Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). Dr. Patel uses OMT for both the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, and this is a valuable tool in his toolbelt along with orthobiologic procedures, physical therapy, nutrition, supplements and medications.

  • Osteopathic Philosophy is also based on 4 tenets:

    • The Body is a Unit

    • Structure & Function are Interrelated

    • The Body Possesses Self-Regulatory & Self-Healing Mechanisms

    • Rational Treatment is Based on Applying these Principles

  • Read here for more information about Osteopathic Medicine and OMT.
  • Your success is incredibly important to us. We’re happiest when you’re happy. Unfortunately, just like with any medical procedure, we cannot offer any guarantees. We do everything we can, using the best-available treatments, to produce the best-possible outcomes.
  • Regenerative medicine is the branch of medicine that researches ways to support the healing of damaged tissue. Regenerative medicine includes the use of therapeutic cells and other biologic substances.
  • Interventional Orthopedics is a new medical specialty that focuses on specific targeted injections under X-ray or ultrasound guidance to treat common orthopedic conditions. The primary tool of Interventional Orthopedics is using the science of Regenerative Medicine to inject orthobiologics such as blood platelets, bone marrow cells, and adipose fat graft. Interventional Orthopedics acknowledges a thorough understanding of the anatomy, biomechanics, and approaches to successfully place a needle under guidance into a given structure.

  • Unlike most pain-treatment clinics, we are deeply committed to building a precise diagnosis before we decide on a treatment path. Not only does Dr. Patel confirm that he has the correct diagnosis, he also looks at the whole picture to identify the root causes and imbalances that are leading to injury or pain.
  • Dr. Patel uses the philosophy of Functional Orthopedics and a wide array of treatments in his toolbelt to provide the most comprehensive care.

  • With advanced training in Interventional Orthobiologics, Dr. Patel uses precise image-guidance to ensure that cells or other solutions are getting exactly where they need to be.
  • Dr. Patel uses highly customized processing to create all of the orthobiologic products used for his regenerative medicine treatments. His processing is leaps and bounds beyond the standardized kits that most other clinics use to create a one-size-fits-all product.
  • To build our range of treatment options, Dr. Patel is continuously learning from universities and clinical sources around the world. We do careful follow-up evaluations with MRI, ultrasound and functional evaluations after your pain has subsided to learn more about how our treatments are working for you.
